How does Modo work?

Modo contains an NFC chip – the same technology used for contactless payments with your mobile phone. When you hold your iPhone to Modo, it detects the NFC signal and opens the Modo app. You choose how long you want to focus – and during this time, the app blocks all apps that you have marked as "distracting."

Do I need an app?

Yes. Modo works together with the free MODO app in the App Store. The app is currently in Apple's review process; as soon as it is available, you will find the download link in your order package and on this website.

Does Modo work with Android?

Not currently. Modo uses Apple's ScreenTime framework, which does not exist on Android. We are planning an Android version as soon as the iOS version is stable. Sign up for the newsletter if you want to be notified.

Which apps can I block?

You decide. During the initial setup, you select the apps that are "distracting" for you – typically Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, YouTube, or Mail. Calls, SMS, and everything you haven't selected will continue to work normally.

Can I cancel Modo if I have to?

Yes, at any time. There's an emergency button in the app and a backup system with codes, in case you ever pass your phone on to someone else. Modo is a gentle hurdle, not a prison.

Does Modo track what I do?

No. Modo itself is passive hardware – an NFC chip in a piece of wood. The Modo app stores all data exclusively on your device. There is no server, no cloud, no account. We don't know who you are or what you're blocking.

What material is Modo made of?

Real oak wood, oiled – no plastic in the casing. Dimensions: 40 × 40 × 10 mm, approx. 35 grams.

Can I return Modo?

Certainly. 30-day return policy, full purchase price refunded. You don't have to give a reason. The only request: please return it as you received it.

Is there a warranty?

Two years statutory warranty. If anything is defective with your Modo, write to me at hallo@getmodo.shop, and I will take care of it.

When will there be more colors?
